Prayer for those in the Arts, Hospitality and Entertainment Industry
Lord Jesus
We thank you for the beauty of our city. We thank you that it is a
city of celebration, of colour, life, warmth and joy, and we pray for
those who are involved in the arts, hospitality and entertainment
industry who bring and reflect this beauty and celebration within our
city.
For those in hospitality, we pray for strength, wisdom and acumen in
this difficult and competitive industry. May those who lead in this,
lead with character and integrity, making great choices for the social
health and wellbeing of our city. We pray for all those who work in
hospitality, that they will continue to be great ambassadors,
representing our friendly smile and reflecting our exciting, fun and
easy going personality.
As a community of believers, we also pray for the artists, writers and
performers who work under often misunderstood pressures. We pray for
their emotional resilience as they feel and experience our world more
sensitively and in unique ways. So that they help us see differently.
We love that their creativity comes from You, our Creator God and in
the reflection of your Spirit we have more colour, more laughter and
more life. Because of them Sydney is more vibrant, more “vivid”.
On behalf of these groups, we ask your forgiveness where ego, pride
and the love of money have interfered with the truth and integrity of
their work and creativity. We also pray for the emerging, young
artists and entertainers that they will create and perform without
compromise. As they explore and nurture their talents, we ask that
they will be resourced with strong, healthy, supportive relationships,
generous mentors, courageous business, church and community leaders so
that Sydney will continue to influence this nation and the world in
creative endeavours.
We pray that all who work in these areas, will carry and reflect your
Spirit in a way that our city hasn’t seen before, paving the way for
innovation and growth within our city of Sydney.
