Cornerstone Class and Workshop booking procedures and customer
information*
*
Please book in advance for classes.
*
Most classes run for a ten week term made up of two five week
blocks. Some classes are ten week blocks.
*
You can book for each five week block individually (except for the
ten week blocks) but we strongly advise you to pay for both five
week blocks at the same time to guarantee your place for the whole
term.
*
Places are not guaranteed for the second five week block if you
have only booked for the first five weeks. Places are sold on a
first come, first served basis.
*
If you or your children are currently participants of our classes
and workshops, you will have a one week priority booking period at
the end of a term to re-book for the same class the following
term, before other customers can book on.
*
Please note that this priority booking period is at the end of
each 10 week term and goes for anyone booking for five or ten
weeks in the following term. It does not apply once public booking
has opened, i.e. half-way through a term.
*
We are not able to offer a credit or refund for any classes or
workshops except under the circumstances described below, or where
Cornerstone agrees that the class is not delivered as advertised.
*
You may not join a class after the first session has happened
except at the discretion of Cornerstone
*
We have to have a minimum number of participants for a class to go
ahead in order to cover our costs.
*
If two or fewer people have booked on to a class or workshop in
advance, we will usually cancel that five week block and inform
the participants booked on at least 5 days in advance by phone
using the number given when booking.
*
If three or more are booked on for a block of classes, we will
usually run the first session. If we do not reach minimum numbers
after the first session, we will usually have to cancel the class
and will let participants know by phone before the following week.
*
If the class is cancelled due to low numbers, we offer a credit to
the customer’s account to use on any other Cornerstone performance
or class or workshop, or a refund.
*
Participants’ age must be within the age band given for the class
they are attending.
*
Cornerstone programmes all the classes and recruits the tutor. All
decisions about classes including starting a term late, changing
age band, etc., are made by Cornerstone and not the tutor. Please
always contact Cornerstone staff directly for questions about
classes and workshops.
*
Cornerstone always reserves the right to change the tutor, as long
as the class continues to be taught as advertised in our
publicity.
*
If a tutor is unable to teach a class we will try and find a cover
tutor to deliver the same class. If this is impossible we will
either need to cancel that individual session, or postpone it. We
will contact all participants by phone to advise of this, using
the number given when booking. Credit or refunds are given for any
cancelled classes.
*
All participants must arrive 10 minutes early for the first class
in order to fill out an enrolment form (parents need to complete
this for their child).
*
Participants are responsible for giving Cornerstone information
about relevant allergies, injuries or health conditions on their
enrolment form and for informing tutors about relevant injuries or
health conditions that arise subsequently.
*
Taster sessions are available for people who wish to try out the
first session of a class before paying for the whole block. This
applies to regular classes of 5 week blocks or more and is only
available for people who have not previously taken part in that
course. You will pay for the taster session individually and can
then decide whether to pay the remainder of the amount for the
remaining sessions. Taster places are subject to availability.
*
We generally try to keep our class participants informed about
changes to the programme that you might find useful to know about,
such as changes to the tutor, changes to timings or class
structure coming up, etc. We will use the email address provided
when booking to keep you informed.
*
Cornerstone receives some funding for adult classes through the
Oxfordshire County Council Skills and Learning Service. Therefore
we are required to use OCC forms and other paperwork to record our
participants’ attendance and experience of our courses.
*
Please also refer to our ‘Child Protection Procedure’ and ‘You Do
We Do for Parents of Participants’ documents for further
information and guidelines.
*this information is valid for all classes and workshops except
privately run classes, which are run by individuals or organisations
