As a boater and consumer of our Plastimo products, you know that
safety and quality are core elements of our business. Our commitment
to these elements is why you, our customer, remain loyal to Plastimo
and trust our brand and products to ensure your safety on board.
As a consequence of a possible production defect on Plastimo LED
safety lights, manufactured by our supplier DNS, which reduced the
light lifetime, we have decided to replace these lights with new
lights that are certified as defect-free.
These lights were purchased by you through West Marine as part of our
Inflatable Overboard Pole or Inflatable Overboard Pole Rearming Kit as
follows:
West Marine Model #8634792 Inflatable MOB Pole (Plastimo Model #40203)
West Marine Model #8634800 60g. Rearming Kit (Plastimo Model #40204)
Included with this letter is a new light that replaces the existing
light that you purchased.
If you purchased the Inflatable Overboard Pole, please replace the
existing light with the new light per the enclosed Model #40203 Light
Replacement instructions and then dispose of the old light.
If you purchased the rearm kit, please replace the existing light with
the new light per the included Model #40204 Light Replacement
Instructions and dispose of the old light.
Should you have any questions or technical issues surrounding the
light replacement or if you would prefer not to replace the light
yourself, please call our service department toll-free at (866)
383-1888, ext. 111, and we'll be glad to provide you a full refund
and/or facilitate for you a return and replacement of the light.
