Scope of Appropriation
This appropriation is limited to providing policy advice and services
to support Ministers to discharge their portfolio responsibilities
relating to improving the lives of New Zealand women , women nominees
for appointment to boards and committees, and support for the National
Advisory Council on the Employment of Women.

Reasons for Change in Appropriation
This appropriation increased by $2.967 million to $10.149 million for
2020/21 due to:
*
funding of $1.750 million received to support Women's
Non-Governmental Organisations to deliver services for women
affected by COVID-19 pandemic
*
an expense transfer of $970,000 from 2019/20 surplus arising
mainly from delays in implementing the Wāhine Inquiry programme
*
$250,000 of departmental revenue for costs related to staff
secondments to other agencies.
This was offset by a reduction in capital charge by $3,000.
