Job Summary
-----------
To work as part of an interdisciplinary team providing speech and
language therapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioural model to
clients with acquired brain injury. To liaise with internal and
external professionals, family members and clients.

Job Purpose

To work as an independent clinical professional with knowledge and
skills, problem solving and clinical reasoning in a specialist
area.

To manage, with support and supervision, and prioritise a caseload
of clients with complex mental/physical health needs and/or
challenging behaviour.

To use evidence based/client centred principles and clinical
reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention.
4.
To facilitate complex discharge packages of care and give advice
and information to other disciplines and agencies.
5.
To contribute to the training and development of others when
required.

To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of
Speech and language therapy Services within a designated
area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects.

Responsible to the Service Manager and clinically to the Consultant in
Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation. Receives clinical supervision from
a Senior Speech and Language Therapist.

professional responsible for carrying and prioritising a caseload,
including dysphagia.

mental and emotional health needs, and/or challenging behaviours. By
the use of specialist knowledge and skills, engage the client and
his/her carer in the therapeutic process and discharge planning. To
actively participate in regular clinical supervision in order to
reflect on clinical practice and clinical reasoning.
