ORTHOPAEDIC RESEARCH HISTOLOGY FACILITY REQUEST
Please Note: All specimens must be in 70% Ethyl Alcohol when brought
to the Histology Lab. Please label cassettes/containers clearly and as
simple as possible. If you must have extensive information for each
specimen, generate a master sheet with a simple coding system. The
Principal Investigator’s initials or the project name abbreviations
with consecutive numbers work well. In addition, it is very important
to use solvent-resistant markers for labeling cassettes or containers.
Otherwise, ALL information is lost during processing. Small specimens
(i.e. pellets) require special handling; please see Teresa Pizzuto
regarding this. All supplies and suggestions for handling specimens
can be obtained from the Histology lab. List your samples on the
reverse side of this request.
