At UU the academic year is divided in two semester: Fall 01-09/31-01 &
Spring 01-02/30-06. Each semester consists of two blocks equaling 30
ECTS per semester. At the Faculty of Geosciences we expect our
students to study fulltime equaling 2 courses per block. If you are
not able to study fulltime at our faculty or need to leave early
(EARLY EXIT)*, please indicate below.
For each period please list three courses, ranked according to your
interest. For Geosciences courses check the faculty website. It is
possible to combine your Geosciences courses with courses from another
faculty within UU, see www.uu.nl/exchange/courses. Please choose
courses from a maximum of two (2) faculties only. Make sure that there
is no timeslot clash (for example two courses in timeslot A is not
possible). At Geosciences there is a maximum of 2 courses per block!
When choosing, pay attention to the language of instruction (English).
Note 1: the courses you have selected are not guaranteed. After your
file has been submitted, the faculty will evaluate the courses and
contact you about your options. Paying close attention to the entry
requirements will help you choose the right courses applicable to your
academic background and programme at your home university.
Note 2: Don’t choose courses with the same timeslot as it is
impossible to take both of them.
Note 3: Exchange students at the faculty of Geosciences are expected
to study fulltime (= 4 courses per semester).
Note 4: It is only possible to enrol in a maximum of 2 courses per
block.
This course form is preliminary meaning that the faculty will evaluate
your courses in relation to your academic background. This form does
not guarantee enrolment. The faculty will inform you on your selection
by e-mail. Only after mutual consent will you be registered for the
courses.
